Girl dies of burns

KGF, dhns: The death of a girl, due to a kerosene stove explosion, was reported on Thursday from the city’s Urigam police station limits.
The deceased has been identified as Triveni (12), a resident of Picchahalli on the outskirts of the City. The girl suffered serious burns from the explosion that occurred when she was trying to light the kerosene stove in her kitchen. She died in hospital, where the doctors were unable to treat her. Urigam police Sub-inspector Mushtaq Pasha has registered a case, and investigations are on.

Shop robbed

KGF, dhns: Robbers struck at a shop in the Robertsonpet police station limits on Thursday, breaking open the lock and making away with items worth Rs 7,200. The theft occurred at the petty shop owned by Shahid Imran. Robertsonpet police have registered a case, and investigations are on.

Boy eletrocuted

Srinivaspura,dhns: A boy was electrocuted in the Hyderali Mohalla on Saturday.  Ahmed Shareef (7) was playing outside his house and unaware he touched an open grounding wire and died immediately. 
    A case has been booked by the police and further investigations are on. Bescom officials visited the spot.

Man hangs self

Chikkaballapur,dhns: An engineer committed suicide by hanging himself because of a loan that he had borrowed. The incident occurred in the outskirts of the city at a residence in front of the SJC Technical college .
    The deceased has been identified as Jobi (28) hailing from North India who completed his mechanical engineering from the college about 5 years ago and was working for Dell in Bangalore. The police suspect that he  may have borrowed a large sum of money to fund his habits and was unable to repay and therefore may have committed suicide.
     The rural police have registered a case and further investigations are on.

Drinking water crisis in 500 villages

Kolar,dhns: The DC said that the district had received less than normal rain fall in the month of June and drinking water shortage had already surfaced in as many as 500 villages. 

    An action plan had been prepared to sink 500 borewells.  District administration had released Rs 43 lakh to redress drinking water shortage and the funds could be utilised for installation of pumpsets and laying water supply pipelines.  Instruction had also been given to meet the funds shortage, if any, from out of State Finance Commission grants and tax remittances to local bodies.

Traders warned not to overcharge

Mulbagal,dhns: Tahsildar Harishilpa and district agriculture officer Dr V Subbaiah directed the fertiliser traders to display their fertiliser stocks on the notice board and also provide bills for the farmers.
     They were speaking at a meeting held for fertiliser traders in the taluk on Thursday. They warned the traders not to overcharge for fertilisers and that serious action would be taken against such traders. Mulbagal DySP Dharanendraiah, circle inspector Jai Shankar, agriculture officer Anand, Deputy Tahsildar M K Ramesh and fertiliser traders were present.

FKCCI president appointed

Kolar,dhns: Federation of Karnataka Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FKCCI) has appointed the president of District Chamber of Commerce and Industries, B Suresh, as a special invitee to  the meeting of FKCCI administrative committee.
