Nikita does an Eva

Nikita does an Eva

Do you remember James Bond’s lady love in ‘Casino Royale’ last year? Former Miss India Nikita Anand (of Dil, Dosti Etc fame), will essay a similar character in her forthcoming film Monopoly – The Game of Money directed by Nileish Malhotra. Nikita admits her character is “on similar lines, and just like the Bond film, has a grey shade too.” Asked whether it has been directly inspired by Eva Green’s character of Casino Royale, Nikita’s spokesman  quips, “It seems to be! But then Nikita is sexy and intelligent in real life too. So it’s difficult to say if it’s art imitating real life or whether Nikita is playing herself.”

Jr Sonu’s birthday

Come July 25 and its going to be one big happy moment for India’s golden voice - Sonu Niigaam.
His son Nevaan turns one year and the proud papa is going to have a jagran especially for him. While planning the event, he told us, “He’s almighty’s gift to us and now is the time we can thank god for the same. I will be having a jagran where I will be singing as many songs as I can. I have engaged a jagran orchestra from Delhi.”

When Imran scares Manjira

She was nominated for best actress in GIFA and Zee Cine Awards for her debut in Rok Sake To Rok Lo.
After a few Bengali films and Mumbai Salsa, she now stars opposite Imran Khan in Jaane Tu...Ya Jaane Na. “Imran is a prankster on the sets. We had a ball, all of us,” says Manjari, recollecting the time when Imran scared her out of her wits in an eerie villa where they were shooting.

“I am not the type who gets scared easily but this was one experience that really really made me scream,” she grins recollecting the event. “Imran really is a prankster.”

What’s cooking Shakti?

One location that actor Shakti Kapoor since the days when he was dating actress Rama Vij and acting in the Dharmendra-Shabana Azmi starrer Khel Khilari Ka has seldom been to is his home kitchen. Seems the actor once put a full onion in the pan and waited patiently for it to fry! And another time, stored a ripe papaya in the deep freeze for the following morning. And when wife Shivangi chucked the fruit into the dustbin the following morning, apun ka Shakti kept thinking what made his wife throw away a good refrigerated fruit!

3-D animation Hindi film

The film Icy N Spicy directed by Anil Goyal is about action and drama. The 3-D Hindi and English animation film has a running time of 78 minutes and is all about the war between good and evil and though aimed at children is likely to be enjoyed by all ages. Icy N Spicy is India’s first 3-D full-length animation feature film and is due for release on July 18. It was conceived more than two years back and brought to the drawing board nearly 18 months ago. The film has been created using high-tech computer hardware and extremely powerful software to incorporate very sophisticated facial expressions of the actors and other finer nuances of human behaviour. It is 100 percent Indian endeavour right from conception, characterisation, animation on the computers, audio and music. Parizat Saurabh, one of the best animators in India, has led a team of 35 professionals for this project.
