Govt may scrape through: CPM  
In spite of hectic political lobbying against the UPA ahead of the trial of strength in Lok Sabha, the CPM leadership has reportedly projected that the Congress-led government would scrape through in the trust vote with a slender margin.

The BSP President Mayawati is fast emerging as a main rallying point for the Third Front, which was recently deserted by SP leader Mulayam Singh Yadav, who crossed over to Congress.

Gowda to either vote against UPA or abstain  
Janata Dal (S) national president H D Deve Gowda is understood to have told Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Saturday that his party would either vote against his government, or "at the most, abstain from voting."
