A miscellany Response to the new format of EFY has been overwhelming. The invitation to Readers to write giving their views, comments and suggestions has resulted in a flood of mail (mostly electronic) difficult to handle. From simple queries like: What figure of speech is this? (some line of verse) to invitations (to me) to join in a philosophical debate on Paradoxes and Antimonies the spectrum is amazing. It is a pleasure to see how many are interested in reading the column and responding to it. That the column had a large readership was always known; that it had such a large and enthusiastic readership is a new, pleasant discovery.
