New feat in cardiology
As a pioneer event in the coastal belt, Omega Hospital in the City has achieved a new feat in cardiology by closing a large hole in the heart of a six-year-old child without a surgery.
Informing this to media persons here on Saturday, senior Cardiologist Dr K Mukund, who handled the case successfully, said the job was done in four hours with the help of a special US-made device in Omega Hospital. Father of the girl is an auto driver, hence the expenses of the work was looked after by the recently founded Heartscan Foundation and Research Centre. The baby was discharged on the third day of the surgery without any medication. The child is normal now and needs no check-up, Dr Mukund said.
