CMC members protest against Commissioner
DH News Service, KGF:

The CMC members held a protest against the Commissioner’s office charging that the public greivances were not being addressed.

Lead by CMC member Sangeetha Kumari, they charged that the new Commissioner Yarrappa had taken charge about three months ago and yet he had done nothing concrete to solve any issue regarding the City Municipal. Be it the distribution of the khata or the issue of the death and birth certificates, the official procedures have slacked off. The Commissioner’s everyday visit to the State Capital Bangalore has also not helped the problem but has only slowed it to a rut. P Dayanand, NIzamPasha, KulShekar, Edward Sigamani, D Kumar, Kodandan, Suma, Vijay Kumar and others participated in the protest.

“The Commissioner has not paid attention the cleanliness of the city. With a week of rains, the  drains are over flowing and are now flooding homes and still the official has done nothing to solve the problems,”  said the protesting members.

The president of the CMC finally intervened and settled the matter between the two parties and only after an assurance was given that the public works would not suffer hence forth and will be completed with efficiency, did the protesters withdrew their movement.
