The scarcity of diesel in the city petrol bunks have created a problem for the commerical vehicle drivers and the farmers in the last two days.
The three petrol bunks in the city have been supplied with reduced quantity of diesel than normal that has led to the scarcity of the fuel.
With good rains in the region, many farmers have taken sowing.
This has created an unexpected demand for diesel for thousands of tractors that will used for sowing by the farmers. This has also added to the problem of diesel scarcity.
On Sunday and Monday evening only one petrol bunk was selling diesel and there was a long line of vehicles to fill up their tanks . This also effected the traffic on the National highway and the police had to be called in to regulate the traffic flow.
Kolar, dhns: There has been a severe crunch of fuel in Kolar district and this is especially true in the case of diesel which is not available in every petrol station.
This is hit the farmers who require fuel to run their tractors, very hard.
Even the commercial vehicles such as taxi, lorries and buses have been effected and also the private vehicle owners and operators.
In protest against this, the car drivers held a protest against a petrol station in Kolar. CMC members Raghu Krishnappa, V Ravindra, Ramesh, C Thyagaraj and others then submitted a memorandum to the DC in support of the protest by the car drivers.
They charged that the people were being effected by the scarcity of fuel in the petrol stations in the outskirts of the city.
“The administration should ensure that diesel is available in all these petrol stations to ensure that people and commercial ventures and the farmers are not adversely effected by it” they said.
