Jay Leno’s last ‘Tonight’  by June next year

Jay Leno will be replaced as the host of the late night show Tonight Show by Conan O’Brien next June, NBC executives told a Television Critics Association meeting on Monday, from Beverly Hills, California.
NBC is angling to keep Leno with NBC Universal but the late-night king has indicated he’s ready to jump ship.

I’m a miracle cancer patient: Patrick Swayze

Dirty Dancing star Patrick Swayze has dubbed himself a “miracle” for his fight against pancreatic cancer, reports ANI from London. Swayze, 55, was seen looking healthy and giving his fans a big smile at the Los Angeles airport on his way to Chicago to film TV drama The Beast.

The Ghost star had undergone new Cyberknife radiotherapy since being diagnosed in January.

Son of Bermuda Premier arrested on sex charges

The doctor son of Bermuda’s premier Ewart Brown has been arrested in Los Angeles over sex abuse allegations, including rape, involving six patients, reports AFP from Los Angeles. Kevin Brown, 37, who had already been charged with sexual battery of a female patient and an undercover police officer, now faces charges relating to six more women, officials said.

Harry Potter, Mr Bean top UK box office charts

Harry Potter and Mr Bean gave UK cinema the necessary fillip last year, with box office takings from British films topping £1.65 billion worldwide, an increase of more than 50 percent in 2006. Figures from the UK Film Council show that 700 million tickets were sold for UK films last year across the globe. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, and Mr Bean’s Holiday came second.

‘Batman’ Christian Bale   released on bail

British actor Christian Bale who recently acted in The Dark Knight as Batman has been released on bail on Tuesday, AP reports from London.

Bale was arrested for alleged assault charges and had to spent over four hours at the London central police station.
