CRICKET / Rain threat to first India-SL Test
Sachin, Mendis under spotlight  
Never before has one man standing on the brink of a debut so emphatically snatched the attention away from some of the biggest names in the game, one of whom is on the threshold of becoming Test cricket's highest run-getter.
Kumble plays down hype around Mendis  
To the outside world, Ajantha Mendis might loom as India's greatest threat in the Test series starting on Wednesday, but skipper Anil Kumble begged to differ, pointing out that Sri Lanka had two other seriously accomplished bowlers and that Mendis himself was yet to play a Test match.
Players, officials keen on referral system  
The first Test at the SSC ground will mark the first time Player Referrals, or the Umpires' Review System, will be trialled in international cricket.
