Free passes for disabled

Bangalore, dhns: The free bus passes currently issued to the blind, will be extended to other physically challenged persons in the State as well, State minister for Women and Child Development P M Narendra Swamy said.

Inaugurating a state-level workshop on education for visually impaired in the City, organised jointly by the State Government, Christoffel Blindenmission (CBM), International Council for the Education of persons with Visual Impairment (ICEVI) and Samarthanam Trust for the disabled, he also said, the government would provide education to all the disabled in four years time and would implement the 3 per cent job reservation for them.

Rain havoc: Women drown

Saligrama (Mysore dist), dhns: Two women were washed away in a flash floods following heavy rains near Saligrama village in KR Nagar taluk on Monday. The deceased have been identified as Jayamma (42) of Marigowdanahalli and Jyothi (10).
