Freedom park inauguration
Minister for Public Works Department C M Udasi, on Tuesday, announced that first phase of Freedom Park at old Central Prison premises in Bangalore will be dedicated to the public on November 1 this year.
In a reply to Congress MLA Roshan Baig’s question, Udasi, answering on behalf of the Chief Minister in the Legislative Assembly said that in April 2006, the project was estimated at a cost of Rs 7.51 crore and later it was revised to Rs 10.27 crore.
Race Course to be shifted
To a question on proposal of shifting Race Course to outskirts of the City was before the State Government, Udasi said the matter was under consideration. When Baig insisted on the government’s stand, the Minister said “yes”.
However, the written answer given by the minister said, “the matter is under examination of the government”.
Metropolitan council planned
The State Government has said that the proposal to set up Metropolitan Council with a fixed term Mayor is not before the government. The Chief Minister in a written reply to an unstarred question raised by Roshan Baig said that the government is reviewing the recommendations made by Dr Kasturirangan Committee on setting up the council. The government has not taken final decision on the recommendations.
Trust vote: House adjourned
The Legislative Assembly session, on Tuesday, was adjourned after question hour as members demanded that they have to watch trust vote proceedings at Parliament on television.
