Healthcare today is more than a fire fighting activity. It needs to be continuous and comprehensive. Perhaps this warrants for an IT system that can provide instant access to personal health record and acts as a communication link between doctors and patients. YosCare, a software system recently opened to public use by its developer Yos Technology seems to go some way in applying IT and communication technology in healthcare.
YosCare is a comprehensive ‘Personal Healthcare System’ which includes Personal Health Records, Healthcare tools and applications for Preventive and Continuous Care. To check out the system, users worldwide can login to the YosCare site (www.yoscare.in) and start using the product to effectively manage their health.
YosCare enables users to store their health records online, using a PC or mobile and generate various health reports. They will be able to manage their complete health calendar, have access to health information and self-help tools like health calculators, health-risk assessment tools, etc. through their personalised health portal. The software application has been developed with the idea that patients suffering from diabetes need more than just monitoring. Indeed, they require a comprehensive care plan that encompasses information gathering, analysis, creation of appropriate diet and exercise packages, tools for both doctor and patient to monitor critical parameters and take pro-active action.
A Diabetes Monitor also measures and monitors health parameters like random blood sugar, fasting blood sugar, as well as an Insulin Assistant that alerts them of the insulin dosage they need to take based on their sugar level.
