Meet on Anganwadis
An ‘Open forum on Anganwadis’ is being organised by Sutradhar. Anganwadis are centres run by the government for children under six years of age. NGOs such as Akshara, MAYA, Belaku Trust and National Law School that are working on enhancing anganwadis, will share their experiences on Monday, August 6, 4 pm at Aashirwad, St Mark's Road, opp SBI. International symposium
Sagar Apollo Hospital is hosting an International Symposium on ‘Emergency and Critical Care’ on August 18 and 19 at the Dr C D Sagar Auditorium, DSI Campus, Shavige Malleswara Hills, Kumaraswamy Layout. Experienced national and international speakers are expected to cover all aspects of adult and paediatric care with a gamut of information on medical emergencies and critical care. Registration are on first-come-first-serve basis. The symposium, as stated in a release, is part of the hospital’s continuing medical education programme and is open to both practising doctors and medical students. Quiz on India
Christ Junior College is commemorating the 60 years of India’s independence and 150 years of the first war of independence with a state-level quiz competition on August 11 for students of class XI and XII (PUC). The quiz is said to cover events that contributed to India’s growth in the fields of politics, economy, culture, science, sports and entertainment, among others. First and second prize include Rs 25,000 and Rs 15,000 respectively along with certificates for all finalists and audience prizes. Exhibition-cum-sale
Chitra Kala Parishat on Kumar Krupa Road is holding an exhibition-cum-sale of various home decor items such as stain glass, Tanjore and Madhubani paintings; Rajasthani pots and wooden craft items. Also at the exhibition is a range of sarees including Kolkata cotton sarees, readymade garments and a collection of clothes for children. The exhibition is on till August 8.

Youth talent festival
Sri Vidya Kalakendra has organised a Yuva Prathibhotsava from August 5 to 12 at its auditorium located at No 15, 27th cross, 14th Main, Banashankari II Stage. The following is the schedule of events: August 6: Carnatic instrumental by junior artistes (6 pm to 6.50 pm), Hindustani instrumental by youth (7.35 pm to 8.30 pm). August 7: Hindustani concert by junior artiste (6 pm to 6.50 pm), concert by youth (7.35 pm to 8.30 pm). August 8: Classical dance programme by youth troupe (6 pm to 7 pm), dance performance by youth (7.30 pm to 8.30 pm). August 9: staging of plays by youth troupe (6 pm to 7 pm and 7.30 pm to 8.30 pm). August 10: Yagashagana by youth troupe from 6 pm to 7 pm and 7.30 to 8.30 pm.
