Hundreds of brides and bridegrooms, including their parents gathered at the Mutt. This meet is being held after many years.
Sampige Venkatanarayana, honorary manager of Shankara Mutt presided over the meet, while Tumkur district Brahmin Sabha president M S Venkatachala participated as the chief guest. Sumanagala S Acharya of MGSK matrimonial centre, was incharge of maintenance of the ceremony.
Many aspirants from all over the district had participated. “Dearth of brides in the community has resulted in a huge crowd”, said Sundar Rao, which was approved by many of the parents who participated in the crowded meet.
Till 9 am on Sunday, the registration process was going on. The speciality of the meet was that all sub castes within the community had also participated. A photo and the horoscope of the aspirant was made mandatory.
The SGSK centre, placed in Bangalore has already organised 82 such ceremonies all over the state including Bangalore.
