Inter-collegiate dance fest
Wonderla Fest - 2007 an inter-school and college dance competition was organised at Wonderla Amusement Park on December 8 and 9.
The best 20 schools and colleges across Bangalore were brought under one umbrella to showcase their talents.
The amazing performance from the young talent was a pulsating moment for the people who witnessed various genre of film dance under one umbrella.
The event witnessed some stunning performance of young guns stepped for regional to contemporary and modern styles of dances. On the other end the event ensured appreciation from overwhelming crowd having fashion for art, music, dance and culture.
Wonderla is organising Wonderla Fest for the second time in a row. The idea behind organising the dance competition is to trace out the young talents and provide a platform to showcase their talents.
The event turned to be successful with more than 65 institutions across Bangalore participated in this event. Renowned choreographers from Kannada Film industry judged this event. The event will be telecasted in Asianet Suvarna Channel.
Winners: College Category: Mount Carmel College, Wonderla Fest Trophy and Rs 15,000 cash prize; 2nd place: Christ College, Wonderla Fest Trophy and Rs 10,000 cash prize; 3rd Place: Bhagwan Mahaveer Jain College, Wonderla Fest Trophy and Rs 7,000 cash prize.
High School Category: Winners: Jain Public School, Jakkasandra - Wonderla Fest Trophy and Rs 10,000 cash prize; 2nd Place: Poornaprajna High School, Yelhanka - Wonderla Fest Trophy and Rs 7,000 cash prize; 3rd Place: Nirmala Rani High School, Malleshwaram -Wonderla Fest Trophy and Rs 4,000 cash prize.
City Principal at global meet
Antony D'souza, Principal of Primus Public School is on a visit to Japan from December 10 to 15 as a resource person at the Seminar on Simplyfying Learning using Technology.
The seminar will be attended by a selected set of Mathematics Teachers from Asia Pacific Region.
Casio Japan, which is hosting the Seminar, will be using D'souza's expertise and knowledge to manufacture new electronic gadgets friendly to student community around the world.
D'souza has also been chosen to go to the 12th Asian Technology Conference in mathematics in taiwan on Decemeber 18. He will be presenting a paper on ' Inspiring Students to learn Mathematics by using technology'at the conference.
Inter-high school competitions
As part of the Pandit Devdutt Sharma Memorial competitions, Sri Dhanraj Phoolchand Hindi High School will be conducting inter-high school Kannada, Hindi and English essay, Hindi debate, singing and spot painting competitions on December 18 and 19.
The spot painting will be held on December 18 from 10 am to 1 pm. Singing competition will be on the same day from 1.30 pm.
The Hindi debate competition will be held on December 19 at 9.30 am. The Kannada Hindi, English, essay competition will be held on the same day at 11.30 am to 12.30 pm. For details call, 25548780.

City duo shine
At the International SIP Abacus and Brain Gym competition held in Sri Lanka on December 2, Seven year-old Manav Gupta from Brigade School became the first runner-up in level three.

Dance drama
Three hundred students of Sandeepani Niketan High School presented IKSENEYA, a dance drama celebrating India. IKSENEYA has been choreographed by Vyjayanti Kashi, the internationally accalimed danseuse and is being organised and sponsored by Sandeepani Niketan High School, Bangalore. The show will be held at the Chitrakala Parishat, Kumara Krupa Road at 6 pm on December 16.
