Need to encourage and regulate wildlife tourism
Where agriculture is no longer profitable, farmers adjacent to protected areas can form cooperatives and develop tourism activities in their land.

Sticking its head in the sand
The United States, would still prefer to stick their heads in the sand when it comes to climate change, and their obstructive tactics throughout the negotiations infuriated the majority.
VIEWPOINT
Democracy: the fair politics
Democracy is supposed to promote good governance. But experts are not clear on how to go about strengthening democratic structures and processes.

Violence in school
Two teenagers peeved over bullying, gunned down their classmate in a Gurgaon public school. Is it symptomatic of the breakdown of discipline in schools or growing western influence or ill-effects of sudden affluence in society.
Deccan Herald had invited readers’ opinion on the issue. While many of our readers opine that parents must show more responsibility in bringing up their children, a few say that there should be strict rules to curb violence in media contents.
