One should love his profession if he has to enhance the career standards, remarked Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Ltd Managing Director Bharatlal Meena, who is also the in-charge secretary for Dakshina Kannada.
He was speaking at the graduation day ceremony of Sahyadri Institute of Health Sciences at Layola Hall in the premises of St Aloysius PU College here on Saturday.
Describing knowledge as a river, Mr Meena appealed the students to absorb from this river in accordance with their abilities.
Guest of honour Vinayaka Mission’s Annapoorna College of Nursing (Salem) Dr Laxmi Rana advised nursing professionals to have an holistic approach towards their career and understand the problems of their clients with a compassionate heart. She appealed them to develop skills and update their knowledge from time to time.
RGUHS Syndicate member Dr Y Bharat Shetty suggested the graduates to use their knowledge for the upliftment of mankind. RGUHS faculty of Dentistry Dr Nidarsh Hegde stressed on the significance of nursing graduates registering themselves as PhD scholars in the modern times.
He said about 18,000 nursing graduates were coming out of colleges every year in Karnataka and hence they need to look for diversified avenues.
Lamp lighting ceremony of the fresh students of nursing was also held in the beginning, while graduates received their certificates. Special achievers were honoured.
