The first convention of Nayak community will be organised by Kodagu Zilla Nayaka Kshemabhivridhi Sangha on February 17.

Speaking to presspersons, Sangha District President M Mallappa and General Secretary K N Ashok informed that the programme which will be organised at Kaleghat Kalyana Mantapa at 11 am, the sangha will be inaugurated and achievers will be felicitated.

Before that, a procession of artistes’ troupes will be taken out in the presence of Rajanahalli Valmiki Peeta pontiff Prasanna Valmiki Swami from Ayyappa Swami Temple to the venue of the convention. Former minister Sriramulu will inaugurate the sangha, while MLC Chikkamadu will inaugurate the convention.

Minister Satish Jarkiholi will release the portrait of Maharshi Valmiki, State Ahinda Youth wing president Hunasuru M Appanna will release the portrait of Madaklari Nayaka.

Former MP and actor Shashikumar will release the calender. Sangha president M Mallappa will present the Karnataka Loka Seva Commission member T J Chandrashekharappa Award. Mysore District Additional Superintendent of Police H R Bhagavandas will be the chief guest.

Education Department Commissioner G Kumar Naik, IAS officer B Shivappa, State Nayak Sangha president Prabhuswami and veteran politician Siddaraju will participate. Sangha convener K R Chandru and director R Krishna were present.
