Union Minister for Surface Transport K H Muniyppa said that the Congress is in favour of elections in the state after the delimitation of constituencies.
He was speaking to reporters here while he was on his way to Kadiri temple in Andhra Pradesh.
He said that 16 SC seats will get increased after the delimitation of seats. ST’s will get 2 Lok Sabha seats and SC’s 1 seat which symbolises the prominence given to backward classes, he opined.
Replying to a question he said, the survey works have been taken up to lay a track between Srinivaspur and Madanapalli.
Bypass
The work is progressing on the road from Mulbagal to Sira which will link Mulbagal to NH 4. The decision of constructing bypasses will be considered simultaneously with the development of the cities, he added.
Decisions will be taken to fix a proper price for of farmers’ lands which have been taken by the government for the construction of NH 7, he said.
Vested interest
Though there are no differences among the Congress members in the district, some vested interests are trying to create a rift between them, he noted.
In a major party like Congress, small rifts have always existed and it is possible to sort out differences among the members, he added.
He also clarified that there was no role of him in the transfer of Chief Secretary of the State government Mahishi and refused to react further.
