“One should make efforts to know about law as law and order can prevail in the society only when people know and follow the law. The knowledge of law is very essential even while exercising one’s rights”, Karnataka High Court Judge N Kumar said here.
Inaugurating the one day Legal literacy programme organised for the KGF Zone Primary and Secondary School teachers at Moyed Mahal on Saturday he said, “People who are unaware of the law are at a greater risk of facing problems, while a person is in a better position to understand his rights and duties if he is aware of the law.
“Teachers in the state should volunteer to educate the illiterate people in the villages about the importance of law”, suggested N Kumar.
Kolar district Administrative Judge A S Bopanna who was the chief guest said that law and social values compliment each other and the knowledge of both is essential for the creation of a healthy society.
