Two other senior IAS officers --Neerja Rajkumar and Usha Ganesh-- whose seniority was overlooked by the Government while appointing Sudhakar Rao as the Chief Secretary, are also seriously mulling over moving the Central Administrative Tribunal.
However, P B Mahishi, who was shunted out to make Sudhakar Rao as CS, has decided not to challenge the Government’s decision. Dilip Rau, who is presently BDA Chairman, has already challenged the decision.
According to highly-placed sources, Ms Rajkumar and Ms Ganesh are likely to follow suit and file separate petitions challenging the decision.
Meanwhile, Mahishi is not interested in occupying the seat of IAS Officers’ Association’s President, which is presently lying vacant after the resignation of Ms Rajkumar, sources said, Ms Rajkumar, resigned to pave the way for Mahishi to take over.
“It is a tradition of the Association to have senior most IAS officer, next to CS, as the President. Hence, Mr Mahishi has to become the President,” sources pointed out.
