‘Hike domestic consumption’

Bangalore, DHNS: India needs to increase its domestic consumption to safeguard itself from the damage of a possible collapse of dollar, Chartered accountant and economic analyst M R Venkatesh said here on Saturday.
Speaking on ‘An Imminent Dollar Crisis’ at “India Re-discovered - a seminar on Global Economy”, jointly organised by Swadeshi Jagaran Manch(SJM) and Vision India Trust he cautioned that American economy has grown highly unstable owing to uncontrolled consumption and sub-prime crisis and trend is towards a major breakdown in dollar value.
