Satyam Computer Services on Sunday announced in Dubai the launch of its Global Development Centre (GDC) in Smart Village in Giza, becoming the first Indian IT firm to set up presence in Egypt.
The company now aims to leverage the current boom in the region, which saw the total IT spend for the MEA region touch $35 billion in 2007. The move is also a testament to the emergence of Egypt as an IT hub with the IT services market in the country projected to reach $163 million in 2007-08.
