'Music to save our culture'
DH News Service, Madhugiri:
"Dasa Sahitya is among the most extensive literature that we have and its contribution in enriching our heritage is immense and irreplaceable" said the chief of Sri Lalitha Music School, Smt Nagamani Sheshadri.

She was speaking at the Thygaraja Aradhana Mahotsava organised by the school as the chief guest. “Thygaraja, Purandardasa, Kanakadasa and others have made immense contributions to the dasa sahitya.  Their thought process have  great meaning.

While the westerners are spell bound by our culture and traditions, our present generation seems to have developed an absolute disregard for it. They seem more interested in aping the west and it is tragedy that they are ruining their lives. We have to save our culture  and the one force that can accomplish that is music. Songs have a life about them and have the capability to bind hearts” she said.

Harini welcomed the guests, Lakshmi hosted the programme and presented the vote of thanks.
