Physio conference concludes

The 5th All India Physiotherapy Students Conference organised by the South Kanara Physiotherapy Teachers Association as part of the Physio Week concluded here on Friday with two concurrent post conference sessions, one in Alva’s College of Physiotherapy in Moodabidre and the other at Nitte Institute of Physiotherapy in Deralakatte.

According to a press release, the session in Alva’s College, under the theme ‘Ethics and management’ and titled ‘Mrs Shobha Alva Memorial Lecture,’ was inaugurated by HoD of Physiotherapy at KMC Manipal Dr G Arun Maiya.

The international scientific resource person of the session was Dr Dee Barlow, On-site co-ordinator for Physiotherapy course at Dhulikhel Medical Institute in Nepal.

The second scientific resource person of the day was Dr Sanjay Eapen Samuel, Professor at MV Shetty College of Physiotherapy in Mangalore. Team leader of United Missions to Nepal and Course incharge for Physiotherapy at Dhulikhel Medical Institute in Nepal Dr Mary Martin was also present.

Former MLA Abhayachandra Jain and Former Minister Amarnath Shetty were the chief guests on the occasion.

The other session at Nitte college, under the topic ‘Airway Clearance techniques in ICU management,’ was presided by MLC Capt Ganesh Karnik. Principal of MV Shetty College of Physiotherapy Dr A Pitchiah and Principal of Padmashree College of Physiotherapy Dr Praveen Aaron were the resource persons on the occasion. Convenor of the conference Dr Ifthikar Ali also spoke on the occasion, the release added.
