Honoured in US

Director of Composite Manufacturing Laboratory at the Missouri University of Science and Technology in USE Dr Kumbla Chandrashekhara has been named ‘Curator’s Distinguished Professor of Mechanical and Aerospace engineering’.

The professorship is the highest honour granted by the university board of curators and is awarded to outstanding scholars with established reputation in their fields of study.

The title was conferred in December 2007.

Dr Chandrashekhara hails from Kumbla in Kasargod district and completed his education in Kumbla, Mangalore, Madras and IIT-Kanpur. He joined Missouri University as a faculty in 1985.

He grew as an internationally known researcher in the field of composite materials and has developed several new composite products, informed a press release.
