A fisherman has been missing after a boat with which he was fishing capsized at the estuary near Panambur on Saturday.

Vaman Karkera and Praveen Suvarna, both are relatives from Bengre, were fishing on the estuary in the wee hours and the boat reportedly turned turtle due to gushy winds. Though Mr Suvarna succeeded to reach the shore, Mr Karkera (41) went missing.

The body is yet to be traced, said Panambur police.

Body found

Body of a student who went missing on NITK beach near here on Saturday, was found on the shore beside Mariyamma Temple on Sunday evening.

The drowned has been identified as Rohit Haridas, a final year M Tech student of NITK. He was a native of Kochi in Kerala, whose father resides in Bahrain.
