A woman of a non-tribal Bengali family was hacked to death by her own children suspecting her to be a witch, on Sunday.
Two men and their sister killed their mother Krishna Ghosh (55) at Tilaboni in Paschim Midnapore district.
Since they had been suffering from ailments, the family had contacted a witch doctor who said Krishna was under the influence of an evil spirit and should be eliminated. Her children followed the instruction with the belief that their mother would come alive again.
