M S Nagendra, Executive Director (Administration), BMRCL said the heavy equipment involved in the demolition process has already been moved into the quarters. “We have begun disconnecting electricity meters on Monday. The structures cannot be demolished in one go. The contractor will remove the wooden structures such as doors, windows in the next few days and commence dismantling the structure in phases,” he said.
Aluminium sheets have been put up at the police quarters to prevent dust emanating from the demolished structures from spilling on to the roads. BMRCL officials said the demolition will will take about ten to fourteen days.
