Man killed in fight over dog

A man paid with his life for beating his neighbour’s dog at Kudalu gate, in Parappana Agrahara police station limits, on Monday.

Police said Gangadhar beat up Ramesh’s dog when it came to bite him. When the latter learnt about it, he came along with his friend Murugesh to Gangadhar and had a heated argument. The brawl turned violent when Ramesh and Murugesh clashed with Gangadhar and they allegedly smashed his head with a stone. The accused are said to be absconding.

Driver murdered

An autorickshaw driver was hacked to death by unknown assailants at Vengaiyanakere, in KR Puram police station limits, on Monday. The deceased, Sajid Khan (32), was a resident of KG Halli.
Interestingly, police recovered a driving licence from Sajid’s trousers, which was in the name of Faiyaz Khan (30). Later, it was learnt Sajid had borrowed Faiyaz’s licence.

On Monday evening, Yasmin Khan landed at the KR Puram police station claiming Sajid was her husband. She identified the body and said he left home on Sunday noon and never returned.

Killed in accident

A man died when the canter he was driving rammed into a truck on Hebbal Ring Road on Sunday.
Due to heavy rains on Sunday night, Umesh (25) could not see the truck in front of his vehicle and rammed into it.
He died on the spot, police said.

Man run over

In a hit-and-run case, a man was killed while two were injured critically when a rashly-driven jeep hit them on Sunday night at Somasundarapallya, in Adugodi police station limits.
Police said Munisami (45) and his friends Dharani (42) and Armugam (39) were waiting for a bus when a speeding jeep hit them.

While Munisami died on the spot, the other two sustained serious injuries. The injured have been admitted to Victoria Hospital.
