Pearls of Wisdom
It is impossible to predict the time and progress of revolution. It is governed by its own more or less mysterious laws.

To protest against the irregular supply of electricity and water, women activists under the leadership of Karnataka Rakshna Vedike locked the main door of Bescom office on the one hand and gheraoed the chief executive officer of town municipal council on the other hand on Tuesday.

Women from various wards of Bagepalli town locked the main door of the Bescom office, and then squatted on the ground and did not allow anyone to enter the office for nearly an hour.

Irregular supply of electricity for over a month had affected the students who were preparing for their examinations. Repeated requests to Bescom authorities fell on deaf ears, the women complained.

They demanded that senior officers of Bescom should visit  Bagepalli and should suspend the Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) for dereliction of duty and for losing control over the Bescom employees.

Withdrew dharna

The agitators withdrew their dharna only after the Bescom officers assured them that the anomaly would be set right within a week. On their way home, the agitators protested in front of the town municipal office for irregular supply of water. The shouted slogans against the officials.
