According to a press release, the programme, said to be first of its kind of JCI in India consisted of a workshop on ‘Study skills and exam preparation’ for standard 10 students of various Government high schools, a blood grouping campaign for the staff of Mangalore KSRTC bus stand, a talk on ‘Right to Information’ by Ashok G Bhat to the members of various Mahila Mandalies at Chemmanur Devassy Master Memorial College at Jyothi Circle, a workshop on Parents’ role in students’ success, Poilo awarness camp at Karavali Utsava exhibition and ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa,’ an open to all singing competition held at Karavali Utsava exhibition stage, the release stated.
Inauguration of a ‘Junior JC’ was held at Govt PU College in Balmatta on the same day.
The other programmes of the day were the handing over of 30,000 railway reservation forms with JCI logo, to railway authorities and entertainment programme and fruit distribution at an old age home near Sharada Vidhyalaya, informed a press release.
