“Corruption has overshadowed the concept of secularism in the country,” said 3rd Finance Commission President A G Kodgi.
Delivering the valedictory address at the State-level National Integration Children Conference-08 here at Mahatma Gandhi district stadium on Wednesday, he said the only alternative left to dig up corruption is to inculcate ethical values among children as they are the makers of future India.
He added that it was necessary to revive educational system in the country and curriculum should introduce children to the rich cultural diversity of the nation.
Lashing out heavily at political parties, Mr Kodgi said politicians are self centered problem makers who are least concerned about the development of nation.
He said entire system is distorted to achieve remunerations and unfortunately removal of poverty a biggest challenge faced by the nation will remain only as a dream.
On protests
Regretting over the so called rastha roko, agitations and bandhs which has been inevitable to protest any kind of injustice and dissatisfaction, he said “unethical way of protesting the injustice which yields no results other than paralysing the life of the lay men.”
President of Bharath Seva Dal H M Gurusidda Swami, General Secretary Bharath Seva Dal U R Sabhapaty Vice President Shivasharanappa Wali were present on the occasion.
