A total of 18,833 voters’ names have been dropped after the revision of the voters’ list in the Kunigal taluk, which comes under the Kunigal assembly constituency, informed assistant election officer B Shivaswamy.
Before the revision of the voters’ list there were a total number of 72,267 voters in the Kunigal taluk, which comes under the Kunigal assembly constituency. However, after the revision of the list 18,833 voters’ names have been dropped and now there are only 53,434 voters in the list, he added.
Moreover, in the Huliyoorudurga assembly constituency the total population prior to the revision of the voters’ list was 83 per cent and after the revision of the list the total number of voters are 62 per cent.
However, on February 14 the revised voters’ list will be announced at the respective polling booths.
Also, those whose names have been dropped from the list can secure application forms from the concerned officers present at the polling booths and submit the duly filled in forms before the stipulated date. It is also to be noted that strict action will be initiated against those who would assault the officers and who would obstruct the work of the officials .
