Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday decided not to go ahead with its plans to hold film industry bundh on February 14, following an assurance from Kannada and Culture department Secretary I M Vittal Murthy to solve the problem soon.
The decision was taken at a meeting of KFCC executive committee members. The Kannada filmdom is demanding the withdrawal of GO that revoked tax exemption given to some Kannada films, including Ganesh-starrer Krishna. It is also demanding a complete tax exemption for re-make films.
The industry has decided to wait for some time for the Govt to implement the promise.
