The Karnataka Lalitkala Academy (KLA) on Wednesday announced the list of its annual awards for 2007-2008 given to artists in recognition of their contribution in the field of arts.
Announcing the list of awardees, V N Mallikarjuna Swamy, Registrar, KLA said ten artists would receive the annual KLA awards, while 28 artists will be presented the Suvarna Karnataka honorary awards.
The honorary awards include Rs 10,000, a shawl and a citation, while the academy annual awards include Rs 5,000, a shawl and a citation. The awards would be presented at Dharmasthala on February 23 at 6 pm.
This year’s notable names include the Veerendra Heggade of Dharmasthala.

Ashok Akki of Gadag and Gopal Subedar of Mumbai.
Honorary awards
