Tuesday was a day of murders in Bangalore.
A man slit the throat of his lover in a hotel, while a husband set his wife on fire. In the third incident, a man was stabbed to death by unknown assailants, while touts ‘selling’ seats in unreserved compartments at the railway station tried to kill a youth for protesting against them.
Man kills lover
A man allegedly slit his lover’s throat and stabbed her to death in a hotel in Majestic.
Police said Mohammed Ghani (30) allegedly killed Sujatha (30). The duo had booked a room as a couple. Ghani picked up a quarrel with Sujatha. The hotel owner and employees heard Sujatha screaming and tried to push open the door but in vain.
Meanwhile, Manjunath, a waiter, entered another room adjacent to their room and peeped inside. He was shocked to see Sujatha lying in a pool of blood and Ghani standing near the door with a weapon. Police were immediately called, while the staff blocked all passages to trap the assailant.
Police arrested Ghani. Investigations revealed Ghani had an affair with Sujatha, a mother of two, who hailed from Tumkur. She had eloped with Ghani, a native of Hosur, two years ago, leaving her husband and children.
Ghani told police that last year, he kept Rs 1 lakh in a room and and Sujatha stole it.
Even after a year when he did not get the amount back, he decided to kill her. To execute his plans, he once again developed a relationship with Sujatha and brought her to the hotel where he allegedly killed her, police said.
Stabbed to death
A man was stabbed to death at Hale Guddadahalli near Harishchandra Temple on Monday. Kannan (40), a resident of Domlur, was stabbed by unknown persons on Tuesday. He was returning home when the culprits intercepted and stabbed him in his chest. After the assault, the assailant fled the scene. Sources said that he was living separately from his family. Police have registered a case of murder.
Man sets wife on fire
Suspecting fidelity, a man set his wife on fire on Monday.
Police said, Bhavani (30) was working as a peon at a Telugu school, run by corporation under Commercial Street police station limits. Her husband Ramesh a tempo driver, in an inebriated state, picked up a quarrel with her on Monday. The brawl took a violent turn when Ramesh allegedly poured kerosene on her and set her on fire and fled from the scene.
The woman managed to contact the police, who shifted her to Bowring Hospital from where she was sent to Victoria Hospital, where she breathed her last while undergoing treatment.
Before dying, Bhavani gave statement to police that her husband set her on fire. Police registered a case of murder against Ramesh and arrested him on Tuesday.
Touts attack passenger
Touts ‘selling’ seats in the unreserved compartments at the railway station, stabbed a youth on Monday.
Sharief (22), a native of Gadag, boarded the Hubli Passenger, where all the seats in the unreserved compartments were captured by the touts. When Sharief protested and forcibly occupied a seat, the touts assaulted on him with a sharp weapon. Sharief escaped and rushed to the railway police station from where he was rushed to the KC General Hospital. His condition is said to be stable. The Railway police have registered a case of attempt to murder against the unknown touts.
