Another woman murdered in City
DH News Service,Bangalore:
In yet another gruesome attack of its kind, a 32-year old housewife Geeta, who was alone at her house, was murdered at Mahalakshmi Layout by unknown persons who escaped with valuables worth Rs 50,000 on Tuesday.

Police said the victim was strangulated with the electric cable of an iron box and smothered by a pillow and murdered. The assailants made away with her mangalsutra, gold necklace and valuables and cash, all worth Rs 50,000. The murder that took place at 11 am on Tuesday came to light only at 11.45 pm, as her husband was away at work and her children who finished school had gone to their uncles house.
Easy escape
The assailants escaped easily as inmates of the houses above the victims residence were also away on work when the incident took place. Police said the husband of the victim Mr Subramani is working as a supervisor in a garment factory. The victim was also employed in a garment factory three years ago.
The victim’s husband had left home after dropping his 11 year old son Vignesh and 7 year old daughter Rajeshwari, students of St Mary’s School in Mahalakshmi Layout.Police added that Subramani had informed his wife that he would visit the PF office. He however gave her a call on her mobile at 11 am. But she did not receive the call. He also called two times later only to find the response in the negative. Having thought that she had gone out, Mr Subramani returned at 8.30 in the night.
Seeing the door locked and his children not at the house, he became anxious and called his in-law, Mr Manjunath replied that he was not aware of her whereabouts. Then both of them went to the back of the house and saw the rear door open. They went inside and saw the body of Geeta, strangulated with a steel wire.
Door closed
Mr Manjunath told the police that Subramani’s children who came home after school at 3 pm, after finding the door closed, spent their time playing for a few hours. They later called up their uncle and went to his house.
Senior police officials including DCP (North), Syed Ulfath Hussain visited the scene of the incident. Finger print experts and the police dog squad were pressed into service at the scene of the crime. Investigation to nab the murderers are on by Mahalakshmi Layout police.
