Professional diploma in Game Art
The Asian Institute of Gaming and Animation, AIGA, has announced the Professional Diploma in Game Art.
The programme is designed by leading Industry experts who have been associated with the Gaming arena for nearly a decade. The Game Art course calls for students to be artistically and creatively inclined with a passion towards games. The course contents have been thoughtfully structured so as to expose students to work and quality expectations in the International Games Industry, thereby preparing them to successfully move ahead to work in the Industry. The unique design allows students to specialise in specific areas of interest and strength and adds a unique flavour to each artist graduating the Game Art course.
The 15 month course will take each student through various aspects of Game Art, starting with foundation covering Fine art, 2D and 3D digital art to core subjects in Game Art to finally conclude with specialisation in one of the Game Art streams.
The course being offered by AIGA at Bangalore, will be certified by the University of Wolverhampton, located in the Midlands UK. Should a student wish to avail a Masters degree, credits earned through the Game Art course at AIGA would help the student achieve his or her masters by completing just one semester at the University of Wolverhamton, UK.
The first batch in Game Art is scheduled to commence on March 2008 with only 25 seats available. Applications will be shortlisted on the basis of merit.
Duration: Available on Full Time (15 months, 5 day a week programme, with Labs open on Saturday and Sunday) and Part Time basis. Entry criteria: 12+ or graduates. Fine Art graduates preferred.
Fees: Rs.2.5 lakhs. Scholarships: Available in different levels

Admission Procedure: Interested candidates will have to submit their sample art work (scanned .jpg images) along with the application form to applications@aiga.in Students applying for scholarships need to submit the scholarship form as well. Both application and scholarship forms are available on the AIGA website. Shortlisted applicants will be called for a test and interview as relevant.
