JD(S) bags TMC president seat at Kunigal
DH News Service,Kunigal:
N Rajeshwari Sugandharaju and Abdul Hameed have been elected president and vice president of the Kunigal Town Municipality respectively.

The election process began on Wednesday morning and Rajeshwari Sugandharaju of JD(S) and Puttalakshmamma of BJP contested the election for President’s post while Abdul Hameed of JD(S) and Suvarna of BJP contested for the Vice President’s post.
Of the 23 seats, 14 seats are won by JD(S) while BJP bagged seven seats and Congress bagged two seats. Ms Rajeshwari defeated Puttalakshmamma by 14 votes while Abdul Hameed also scored 14 votes to win over Suvarna. Interestingly Rangaswamy and Nalina Bhairappa of the Congress didn’t vote anyone.
Tahasildar B Shivaswamy was chief election officer while Chief Officer B K Srinivasmurty and DySP Prabhakar, CPI Balarame Gowda and PSI Siddaraju also supervised the election process.
