Three top-notch designer labels came together to raise funds for underprivileged children

Recently three top-notch designer labels came together to raise funds for underprivileged children supported by Concern India Foundation, an NGO that works with development-oriented organisations. Ace labels Shantanu and Nikhil, Ashish Soni and Suneet Varma on well-groomed City models and a neat show by Prasad Bidapa set the ramp afire.

Titled ‘Ramp to Street’, the show kicked off with a collection by designer duo Shantanu and Nikhil Mehra. Dominated by yellow, the ‘Banaras Boulevard’ collection was very international in spirit and construction. Aimed at the global Indian woman, the line was primarily in satin and comprised drapes, gathers over tights and dresses.

Ace designer Ashish Soni’s sporty Spring-Summer line followed next. Titled ‘Game on’, the designer took on the classic sportswear silhouette with elan. Racer backs, mini dress, tennis dresses, hour glass slim trousers, hand crafted jodhpurs to sexy shorts, Ashish lent his quintessential fashion sense into this breezy line.

Contemporary active wear embellished with rich embroideries and swarovskis, the sexed up sportswear was very youthful in construction. With predominantly sporty white on the colour palette, bubblegum pink, powder blue, French vanilla cream, dusty overtones of grey and coloured heathers made for a refreshing visual treat.

Suneet Varma’s chic line marked the grand finale. It was a pure visual treat. And the clothes very wearable. Designed for the diva, the collection comprised some snazzy churidaar-kameezes. Interesting embellished net backs, churidaar in gold lycra, gold foil printing, great colour combinations and clean lines - Suneet is a master at his craft. Oscar gowns in a variety of styles and colours received much applause from the audience.
