North Zone take lead
Mumbai, pti:
After dismissing West Zone for a paltry 274 runs, North Zone were bowled out for 340 thanks to a brilliant bowling display by pacer Siddharth Trivedi on the second day of the Duleep Trophy final at the Wankhede Stadium here on Wednesday.

However, Trivedi (six for 67) could not stop North Zone taking a 66-run lead due to some defiant batting by their lower order.
West Zone were two for no loss in their second innings at close.
Openers Aakash Chopra , who slammed a double ton in the previous tie, and Shikhar Dhawan got good starts but were unable to capaitalise and perished to Trivedi’s bowling for 35 and 30 respectively.
Four balls after Chopra was sent to the pavilion, Trivedi found the edge of Karan Goel’s bat and later sent skipper Mithun Manhas packing for 26.
Yashpal Singh (59) and Rajat Bhatia (84) consolidated the innings and added 128 runs for the fifth wicket. Bhatia, who was looking good for a ton, fell prey to Trivedi after smacking nine boundaries and a six.
Trivedi, the young Gujarat pacer, bowled brilliantly and got breakthroughs at regular intervals. He was well supported by left-arm spinner Rakesh Dhruv who got three wickets.
However, West Zone could not wrap up the innings after seeing the back of Bhatia who fell with the total on 271, and allowed tailenders VRV Singh (33) and AK Thakur (33) put on a partnership of 66 for the 10th wicket, which included a huge six by Singh over long-off.
