With a view to create awareness on the importance of education and eliminate superstitions  prevalent among the Yadava community, a rally will be organised at the Gollarahattis of the taluk, said Sri Yadavananda Swamiji.
Speaking after inaugurating Sri Krishna Yadava Youth Welfare Association at D Hosahalli Gollarahatti, Swamiji said the Yadava community is living a life marred by fear and superstitions. People of the community, especially women are still following certain unscientific traditions. It is high time that they gave up such practices and adopted a more scientific and modern way of life, he said.
Friendly relations
Former minister A Krishnappa called upon the Yadava community to live in unity and develop cordial relationship with other communities.
Presiding over the function former legislator S P Muddahanumegowda said efforts are on to bring the Yadava community into the mainstream by providing them educational, economic and social support.
Taking part in the programme Anasuyamma Y K Ramaiah said the women of the community are being exploited in the name of traditions. Religious leaders and the educated must strive to free women from the ordeals they go through, she added.
M K Ashok applauded the rich contribution of the Yadava community to the culture and Janapada literature of the land. ZP president K Krishnamurthy, Papanna, Rudrpappa and others spoke on the occasion.
