Both the accused, Vijendra and Dinesh, who were posted on security duty at the Raj Bhavan have been arrested, police said. A third person known to the accused has also been booked for the assault on the woman and is absconding.

The incident occurred in the wee hours of Thursday morning after the woman, who reportedly works as a cook with a catering firm, was returning home after finishing her work at a late party. The woman has alleged in her complaint that the two policemen stopped the auto in which she was returning to her place and after thrashing the auto driver dragged her to their official residential quarters.

She alleged that the two policemen and one other person raped her there. The victim, a mother of five children, lives in Mohali.

The woman has been medically examined.
