New portal
Bangalore, dhns: Karnataka, which has taken a lead in e-governance, on Thursday took one more step forward by launching a new portal www.karunadu.gov.in
The citizens in future need not visit a government office to seek an appointment with an officer to know the status of their applications or for monitoring the status of their file or for redressal of any other grievances they have. They can utilise the portal for getting an appointment with an officer.

College fest
Bangalore, dhns: The Department of Tourism Studies, Christ College (Autonomous) will conduct the eighth edition of Exodus, an annual national-level travel, tourism and hospitality fest starting on February 22.
The two-day fest will include events like Brainstorm - The Best Tourism Manager, Planning Spectrum, Travel Solutions, Master Mind and Cultural Forum.
About 20 colleges from various parts of the country are expected to participate. The highlight of the fest is ‘Travelitz-2008’, sponsored by Thai Airways International PCL.
Rare honour
Bangalore, dhns: The State has achieved a rare distinction by securing first place in the implementation of provisions of Persons with Disabilities Act (equal opportunities, protection of rights and full participation). The Office of the State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities has bagged this honour.
