The moment one tries to know oneself the real education of the self begins. Through self realisation every individual can attain greater heights in life, said president of Tumkur Ramakrishna Vivekananda Ashram Sri Veereshananda Saraswathi Swamiji.
Delivering a discourse at the annual day gathering of the Government PU college, he called upon students to seek self realisation, have a definite goal in life and concentrate on their studies to fulfil their dreams.
Presiding over the function former legislator B Satyanarayana said the Government has opened ten high schools, three PU colleges, and two Ashram schools in the taluk. Hostels have been opened for students belonging to SC/ST communities and minorities. Poor students must make best use of these services offered by the Government, he added.
City municipality president Annapurna Ranganath, Taluk panchayat president Hansaveni Srinivas, lecturers Ashokkumar and P H Mahendrappa, School development committee vice president Sayed Buranuddin and others took part in the programme.
