Speaking after accepting public petitions at taluk panchayat auditorium at Chikkanayakanahalli, Mr Dwarakanath alleged that the government is doing nothing for the welfare of weavers, barbers, potters, shoe makers and others who follow family trades since generations. They have not been provided either financial of technical aid, he said.
Information
He also said that the information regarding various government schemes meant for the welfare of backward classes is not reaching all the concerned people. Hence many of them are deprived of these privileges.
The information brochures henceforth will be published in three languages and will be distributed at gram panchayat level, he added.

People participating in the meeting submitted petitions concerning various issues like loan waivers at cooperative societies, and transparency in distributing grants and other facilities.
Member of backward class commission B Guruswamy, taluk panchayat president Sharada Seetharamaiah, tahasildar Tabassum Zaher, executive officer M Gopal and others spoke on the occasion.
Shyamsundar compered the programme. M R Srishaila proposed vote of thanks.
