Nehru quits Cong Parliamentary Board
NEW DELHI, Feb 23
Prime Minister Nehru has stepped down from the Central Congress Parliamentary Board of which he has been a member since 1950. Mr Nehru had written to the Congress President that it would be better if somebody else was taken in his place on the Parliamentary Board.
The Congress Working Committee decided to nominate Mrs Indira Gandhi on the board in place of Pandit Nehru. Mrs Gandhi is also a member of the Committee .
US Ballistic Missile bases in UK
WASHINGTON, Feb 23
Britain and the United States today signed a space-age agreement providing for the establishment of ballistic, authoritative sources reported.
Details of the agreement are to be announced simultaneously in Washington and London on Monday, the sources added. Under the present plans, the US will have at least one squadron of the Air Force’s Thor Intermediate Range Ballistic Missile deployed in Britain by December this year.
Four missiles bases will be constructed on British soil to take US weapons. But the location will be announced later by Britain.

Centre to convene meeting of CMs
NEW DELHI, Feb. 23.
The Centre proposes to convene a meeting of the Chief Ministers of Karnataka and Maharashtra to discuss the border dispute between the two States.
“They can sit together and solve the problem and we will do our best to assist them towards that end,” Home Minister PC Sethi told Prof Madhu Dandavate (Janata) in the Lok Sabha today. Dandavate wanted to know if the Centre would use its offices to help the States to solve the dispute .
