'Public co-operation necessary'

SP Krishna Bhat said that the public need not fear about informing illegal activities happening in and around them as such the names of the informers will be kept confidential.

He was addressing the TMC members and the public at the Citizens’ Committee meet at the rural police station in the town recently. He called on to lead disciplined life which helps in constructing a healthy society.

Mr Bhat explained that some of the departments such as Forest department, Mines and Geology department, Revenue departments do not come under the purview of Police department.

Sub Division Inspector of Chikkaballapur Nanaiah called on the public to inform the department regarding gambling and other illegal activities.

Precautionary measures
He also called on the public to take precautionary measures while going away from their houses; such as keeping valuables in safety lockers in banks which can prevent robbery.

 He also stated that the department needs the co-operation of the public to function more powerfully. Later a discussion was held regarding the problems of the taluk and steps to resolve problems.

Apart from the public, journalists, police officials, TMC president Saraswathi Nagesh, vice president Kantharaj, members N R Radhakrishna Gupta, Isthuri Satheesh, ananth, Narasimha Murthy, Padmavathamma, Pramila Radhakrishna, Shafeeq were some of the dignitaries present on the occasion.
