The Bangalore IV Additional District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum has pulled up a shop for cheating three consumers. Rudrashish Sen and his two friends paid up Rs 4,000 for buying five tickets of Howrah-Yashwanthpur Express on August 28, 2007 from National Enterprises in Bangalore. The shop owner gave them a receipt for the amount paid. The remaining amount of Rs 4,300 they paid up to one of the employees, Mr Alam of National Enterprises no 14, RBDGTC Building. He did not give them a receipt but wrote the amount at the back of the earlier receipt.
They were supposed to travel on the train on October 14, 2007. National Enterprises had told them that the confirmed tickets would be given to them on October 10, 2007. But they had to phone up and remind the shop several times to send their tickets which never arrived. Even on October 14, 2007 when they rushed to the shop, they were told that the tickets were still not ready! They were also told that Mr Alam who had taken the rest of the money from them had left their shop and taken away their money. They finally complained to the IV Additional Forum which ordered the shop to refund Rs 8,300 to the complainants along with costs of Rs 2,000.
